25 YEARS OF MAKING ART ACCESSIBLE

The 2008 Leeds Art Fair is celebrating 25 years of bringing the best of the region's professional artists into a public arena in the very heart of the city. From Thursday 1st May to Sunday 4th May, sixty-two selected local artists will be exhibiting a wide range of vibrant, contemporary art at The Light, the Headrow, Leeds. Entrance is free and many of the artists will be on hand to informally discuss their work. All the works are for sale at prices decided by the artists. As well as showing works by established artists the Fair will be enlivened by a significant number of new exhibitors and will be hosting the second series 'Satellites' showcasing the work of up and coming graduates and staff from the University of Leeds, Leeds Metropolitan University and Leeds College of Art and Design.

“The Fair offers a really stimulating spread of artistic interests, styles and media” states one of the volunteers on the information desk. “The Leeds Art Fair remains truly accessible, free to view and certainly challenging, the 25th anniversary show promises to be a real stunner!” enthuses chairman Andrew Wade.
